Rolfe Judd is a long established and respected architecture practice with offices situated in both London and Poland. Successful collaboration across the dispersed offices had been historically challenging, particularly in relation to working on Revit models which were ever increasing in terms of size and complexity. Practice & IT Director, Gary Aiken, came across Inevidesk whilst looking for a solution to this challenge:
“Some time ago we became aware of Inevidesk and it seemed as though their VDI service might well address many of the issues we were experiencing in terms of effectively bringing together the technical operations of our offices. Being a relatively new offering, we were initially unsure, but we became reassured when we saw more and more practices adopt Inevidesk. They had become established and trusted amongst many of our peers, which seemed to attest to the promise of their high-performance and industry specific offering. The free trial we undertook to ascertain this for ourselves was very successful and confirmed that the vdesks could handle the most demanding requirements of our users.

“We deployed our first pod in September 2024 and added a second in February 2025, slotting them into our on-premises London server infrastructure. We are currently dedicating the vdesks to our team in Poland, which has allowed them to plug effortlessly into our UK infrastructure, where everything is now centralised, and works as effectively as if they were sitting in the office next to us. This has vastly improved our collaborative capabilities. In addition, the introduction of Inevidesk has allowed us to retire servers in Poland, rapidly roll out Windows 11 upgrades and tighten up the security of remote and home working. These are substantial efficiencies and improvements that are noticeable across the IT team and wider business.
“Our longer term plan is to gradually introduce more Inevidesk vdesks to replace ageing workstations as these cycle out of use, moving all our staff onto laptops for maximum flexibility and improving business resiliency. The ability to incrementally add vdesks by the pod and locate them where we need is very helpful in terms of our resource and budgetary planning.
“We have been very impressed by the support and guidance we have received from the Inevidesk team during our time working with them. They are highly responsive, deeply expert and friendly with it. We don’t feel pressured in terms of future sales or upselling and appreciate an approach that feels allied to our needs and timescales. However, probably the best thing I can say is that we have not received a single grumble or complaint from any team member using Inevidesk since its introduction. That feels like a massive win for us.”
